Rob Marciano, a veteran ABC News meteorologist, has been let go.
Although the actual cause for his departure is unknown, it was reported last year that he was “banned” from Good Morning America’s Times Square studios for making a coworker uncomfortable.
Prior to ABC News, Marciano, 55, worked at several local TV and radio stations around the country. He also worked as a meteorologist and field reporter for CNN
In January 2013, he joined Entertainment Tonight, where he co-hosted a 30-minute and 60-minute show for nearly two years. In late 2014, he departed ET to join ABC News.
At ABC, he gave weather updates for World News Tonight and the weekend edition of Good Morning America, a position previously held by Ginger Zee.
Prior to his official resignation, Page Six reported that Marciano had been banned from the GMA studios for “improper” behavior.
“He made others feel uncomfortable. There was a period when there were some problems, including a number of unsettling episodes,” a source told the newspaper.
Marciano was fired two years after his ex-wife, Eryn, filed for divorce. The couple, who have two children, had been married for eleven years.
“The last couple of years have been very difficult,” he explained at the time. “I did not want this and attempted to save the marriage, but we are unfortunately splitting. My concentration is now on my children.”
In September 2023, Somara Theodore took over Marciano’s duties on GMA’s weekend program. At the time, the meteorologist stated that he was not leaving, but rather looking forward to a “exciting new project” with NatGeo.
