Ellen DeGeneres Says She’s Quitting Hollywood And We ‘Won’t See Her Again’

Ellen DeGeneres says she’s quitting Hollywood and that we ‘won’t see her again.’

Emmy-winning TV host Ellen DeGeneres, 66, began her career in stand-up comedy bars.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which started in 2003, had humor, celebrities, musical guests, and human interest tales.

The daily show was a major hit for the celebrity, with 19 seasons and millions of fans watching each episode.

Yet in 2020, everything would change.

DeGeneres built her reputation by being kind to others, and she famously stated ‘Be kind to one another’ in every Ellen DeGeneres Show episode.

However, behind the scenes, rumors circulated that the comic was not as pleasant as she appeared on the daily show.

Former employees began speaking out about their experiences working on the show, and celebrities joined in, with some agreeing with former employees and others backing DeGeneres.

DeGeneres apologized to viewers on-air, saying (according to The Guardian): “I discovered that things happened here that should never have happened.

“I know that I’m in a position of privilege and power, and I realize that with that comes responsibility, and I take responsibility for what happens at my show.”

In 2022, DeGeneres ended her talk show after nearly 20 years.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, DeGeneres said she needed to be ‘challenged’ with something new.

The comedian has been out of the spotlight in previous years, but she just made a comeback.

She is now on Ellen’s Last Stand Tour and plans to release a comedy special on Netflix.

DeGeneres said that her controversies will be addressed in the special, saying (according to Tudum): “To answer the questions everyone is asking me – Yes, I’m going to talk about it.”

On tour, DeGeneres joked (via Rolling Stone): “Honestly, I’m making jokes about what happened to me, but it was very devastating.

“I just disagreed with how the show ended. I love that show so much, and I hated that that was the last time people saw me.”

In a Q&A session following one of her stand-up sets, DeGeneres was asked if she will be in any new films or do theatre work, to which she replied, “Um, no.” This is the final time you’ll see me.

“After my Netflix special, I’m done.”
