“First things first,” he demanded, crossing his arms tightly. “Did this boy actually finish college?”
“Not only did he graduate, Dad,” Emily beamed, her eyes lighting up with pride. “But he was at the absolute top of his class.”
Mr. Evans narrowed his eyes, searching for a catch. “Fine. But does he have a respectable, stable career?”
“Of course he does! It’s an incredibly secure position,” she insisted.
Leaning in, the skeptical father decided to test the young man’s core character. “With that kind of success, does he actually give back to the community? Is he charitable?”
“He is the most selfless, generous soul I have ever met,” Emily replied warmly. “In fact, the entire town looks up to him for his kindness.”
