A married man named Paddy was visiting his girlfriend when she suddenly looked at him and said,
“Oh, Paddy… please shave your beard!”
He looked shocked.
“Why?”
“Because I want to see your handsome face!”
Paddy shook his head.
“I can’t! My wife loves my beard. If I shave it off, she’ll know something’s up!”
His girlfriend gave him a sweet smile.
“Please, Paddy…”
After a little persuasion, Paddy finally gave in and shaved it off.
Later that night, he quietly slipped into bed beside his sleeping wife.
A few moments later, she woke up in the darkness and reached over to touch his face.
She froze.
Then she whispered,
“Oh, Michael…”
Paddy’s heart stopped.
His wife continued,
“You shouldn’t be here yet…”
“Why?”
She sighed sleepily.
“Paddy will be home any minute!”
Paddy stared at the ceiling.
He suddenly realized the beard wasn’t the only thing keeping his identity safe.
