A lot of women have the mindset “my money is my money and your money is ours”. So why do so many women hide their money from their husbands and even boyfriends?
1. According to society, men are ‘supposed’ to be the providers
From the moment a woman is born, society has prepared for her a husband who knows how to take care of her, while a man needs to work hard to take care of the family. With this in mind, most women think nothing of sharing any money they have with their husbands, they are more interested in receiving it while men are more interested in giving.
2. Most men don’t truly want richer wives
Women grow up thinking their husbands will meet their financial needs, not the other way around.
A quick way for most men to feel disrespected and most women to become discontented is when a woman becomes richer than her man and starts taking care of him. If she boasts that she has more money, he may cease to feel like the “head” of the family.
So not only women want rich husbands, some men don’t want rich wives either. Of course, few people exist who do not think like this, but they are in the majority.
3. Some women have been swindled by men
Some women give men money, what is the end result? They chase their money or spend it on other women. Once bitten, twice shy, right? Many women do not want to become a ‘fool’ for love, giving men all their life savings just to be cheated on at the end of the day.
4. Stingy husbands make stingy wives
Most women don’t want to spend all their money on paying rent, filling up the car, taking care of the kids, and buying their personal items.
If a woman marries a man that does not even attempt to assume the role of a provider and it’s usually a battle to get him to foot any bill, she would not be happy to use her own money for the upkeep of the family and might lie about how much she’s earning, so he can step up.
