Carrie Underwood and 5-year-old son deliver heartwarming rendition of “The Little Drummer Boy” in charming duet

If you grew up in a household like mine, your family likely have its own collection of Christmas classics.

My parents preferred traditional Christmas songs – Mariah Carey and Wham! were strictly forbidden – so I have a soft spot in my heart for ballads that have stood the test of time and evoke feelings of nostalgia everytime they are performed.

Carrie Underwood’s rendition of The Little Drummer Boy, performed as a duet with her son, made me feel all warm inside.

I believe we can all agree that The Little Drummer Boy is a really timeless tune.

The song’s words are said to have originated in a traditional Czech hymn, and Katherine K. Davis is said to have penned the song as we know it in 1941.

The preferred version of this well-known musical song varies depending on personal preference, but you’ll probably find something to like in all of them. After all, there’s a reason it’s considered a classic.

However, I can’t deny that I was hit with a particularly nice emotion when I first heard Carrie Underwood’s song from 2020, recorded alongside her then-5-year-old son Isaiah.

For those who don’t know – and we hope there aren’t many of you – Carrie Underwood is a country music legend who has repeatedly enthralled and delighted audiences.

When she revealed in 2020 that she was releasing an album around everyone’s favorite holiday season, Christmas, her followers were ecstatic.

The CD in question included a captivating mix of Christmas classics and unique songs by Carrie herself. The 11th tune, The Little Drummer Boy, is very memorable for me.

Carrie collaborated with her son Isaiah on a rare duet, sharing memorable voices. and did an excellent job.
