A doctor couldn’t get hired by the local hospital, so he decided to open his own clinic.
He put a big sign outside:
TREATMENT: $20
IF WE CAN’T CURE YOU, YOU GET $100 BACK!
One day, a lawyer spotted the sign and smiled.
“Finally… easy money.”
He walked into the clinic.
“I’ve lost my sense of taste,” the lawyer announced.
The doctor nodded.
“Nurse, bring me Bottle No. 14. Three drops on his tongue.”
The nurse did exactly that.
The lawyer immediately gagged.
“Ugh! That’s kerosene!”
The doctor smiled.
“Excellent! Your sense of taste is back.”
“That’ll be $20.”
The lawyer paid reluctantly and walked out.
A few days later, he returned with a new complaint.
“I’ve lost my memory. I can’t remember anything!”
The doctor calmly nodded.
“No problem. Nurse, Bottle No. 14. Three drops.”
The lawyer tasted it and immediately shouted,
“HEY! That’s kerosene! You gave me that last time!”
The doctor smiled.
“Perfect. Your memory is back.”
“That’ll be another $20.”
The lawyer paid, absolutely furious.
A few days later, he returned for one final attempt.
“My eyesight is terrible, Doctor. I can barely see a thing!”
The doctor sighed.
“I’m afraid we can’t help you with that.”
He reached into his pocket and handed the lawyer a $100 bill.
“Here’s your refund.”
The lawyer stared at the bill.
Then he frowned.
“Wait a minute! This is only $20!”
The doctor smiled.
“Wonderful!”
“Your eyesight is restored.”
“That’ll be $20.”
The lawyer just stood there speechless.
For once, he had been out-lawyered.
